Ganpati Utsav is being celebrated in a grand manner and NMMC is trying to ensure an
Eco-friendly festival by setting up immersion ponds at different
locations in an around Navi Mumbai. So far, five such ponds have been
set up, including one at K O P R I G A O N. Once should worship and
Celebrate Ganpathi Festival in the most peaceful way. Immersion of
idolsin the ponds is a nuisance and the water gets contaminated with
paint, oil and other chemicals. Thus the water is becoming useless.
The living things like fish inside the water could not survive long in
this environment. We are at a loss, losing precious specimen of
fishes inside the water. If consume contaminated water, you get all
the health hazards and leads to blindness as well. Another cause of
worry during the Ganpathi Festival is the noise pollution. Pandals
having loud speakers in the satellite city are blowing hard and the
sound made the people go deaf.
Noise pollution or unwanted sound is yet another form of environmental
disturbance. Noise pollution is dangerous for human life. It affects
the brain and prolonged exposure to noise may cause blood vessels to
contract, sometimes resulting in hypertension. Thus it can be said
that pollution of any kind causes serious damage to man, animals birds
aquatic life, crops and vegetation.With added colour to the water due
